Virginia Ungar is a Medical Doctor, Psychoanalyst, Full Member with didactic function of the Buenos Aires Psychoanalytic Association (APdeBA).

Specialist in child and adolescent psychoanalysis, former coordinator of the Child and Adolescent Psychoanalysis Committee of API and of the Committee for an Integrated Training of API.Recipient of the 2016 Platinum Konex Award, in Humanities, Psychoanalysis section.

Past President of the International Psychoanalytic Association for the period 2017-2021. She was the first woman elected to this position.
