DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS "ARMINDA ABERASTURY".

The Argentine Psychoanalytic Association (APA) has the privilege of being the first Association worldwide to have founded a specific Department dedicated to the study and deepening of the problems of children and adolescents. In this sense, this Department of Children and Adolescents has been named "Dr. Arminda Aberastury", our pioneer in this field. Her innovative work laid the foundations of child and adolescent psychoanalysis in our country and in neighboring countries as well. This distinction carries with it an immense responsibility to continue at the psychoanalysis vanguard, deepening both the study and research as well as the training of new analysts qualified for the attendance of child and adolescent pathology. This Department considers that one of the fundamental pillars of the improvement of psychoanalysis is through the study of everything new that happens with childhood and adolescence, understanding that psychoanalysis is not a static and rigid discipline but a flexible, evolving and growing tool.
